Past
Amber Scates began her artistic career fronting the Perth indie rock band RAKSHA, known for its raw energy and genre-blurring sound. She then trained at WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts), completing a Diploma and Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre, and developed a strong foundation in live performance, voice, and creative storytelling. Over the years, Amber also grew a loyal social media audience through her expressive, experimental content and began offering creative coaching to fellow artists seeking clarity and confidence in their own voice..
Present
Amber is now a multidisciplinary artist based in Naarm/Melbourne, blending music, performance, and real talk across everything she does. She’s a singer-songwriter, drag and burlesque performer, host, actor, and creative mentor who’s all about helping people feel more like themselves — on stage, on camera, or in their everyday lives.
Her latest single Out of Touch pairs vulnerability with bold pop energy, while her live cabaret Realtime Revelations creates space for unscripted connection, insight, and surprise. Alongside her own work, Amber offers coaching and consulting for artists and brands wanting to show up with more honesty, clarity, and creative spark.
Upcoming
Coming up, Amber is taking her rock- cabaret show Realtime Revelations on tour in 2026 — expanding the show into new cities and new dimensions. She’s also cooking up fresh music releases, with aims to release her next single late 2025, and an EP Eary 2026. Along with this she is developing multimedia work that dives deep into creativity, identity, and the weird, wonderful process of being human. Expect bold ideas, big heart, and plenty of unexpected turns.
